Our friend Alane of Blissful Botanica just brought to my attention this blog:

Don’t have any soap/shampoo to spare? The crafting community is also stepping up and showing their support. Find out how by going to my friend Rachel’s blog:
www.lostintheattic.typepad.com/
And if you are needing or wanting anything from Mary Janes Farm, please consider purchasing those items this week as 10% of sales will go to Haiti Earthquake Relief Efforts:
Most of us cannot begin to imagine the circumstances the Haitian earthquake victims now find themselves in. Thank you for doing whatever you can to help. Hugs,
Valynne & Paul
PS I just sent 50lbs of random soap chunks in 2 large Priority Mail boxes, which cost me $29 total. Two normal boxes would have cost me around $80 to send. Be sure to use the “Flat Rate” boxes, which you can pick up free of charge at the post office.
Thanks for spreading the word!!
You are welcome, Amy – and thanks to Alane for sharing your blog with me : )
For some reason, I just now found your comment languishing in my spam box…still a lot for me to learn here in Blogsville!
Thank you for what you say…. yes, it is almost beyond comprehension what is happening. Even a donation to Doctors Without Borders and Hospital Albert Schweitzer seems not enough….. so I pray….
It is good to see all kinds of people stepping up and making a difference. There are so many ways to help, even for those of us without a ton of $. It is good to see how many wealthy people have contributed, also! Almost everyone I talk to is doing whatever they can.
When you open your prize, be careful not to cut into the box – it is pretty and I did not want to use two boxes : )
v, HUGE thanks for linking me, i’m going to add the soap one too. what a great thing. i sincerely wish there was more i could do. i have NO reasons for the complaints i currently have. NO REASONS.
It is an eye opener, indeed. So easy for us to focus on what we don’t have rather than all that we do have. A lot of that is cultural, I think. I have no reason to complain either – we are very fortunate, aren’t we? XOX
You are good and I love you!
I try to be good…I love you too. Just got your e-mail. Am responding via letter that keeps going and going and just needs to be sent already. It WILL be sent tomorrow. Be sure to have a cup of tea, blanket, etc. with you as it will be a doozy!
