Tomorrow, A New Home

Tomorrow, A New Home

Old Ford Pulling an Airstream = Traveling in Style

Pennsylvania made for a stunning drive today, with the autumn leaves and so many different trees.  It seemed to take a lot less time to cover than it has in the past; must be because Paul is doing all of the driving.  I thought it would never end when I drove it alone this time four years ago.  We decided to stop just outside of Connecticut (in NY, a few miles from the Hudson), and finish the drive in the morning.  Very excited for tomorrow…

Iowa

We have stopped for the night in what I thought was Ohio.  According to the hotel keycard, we are actually in Michigan.  Anyway, we are very close to Ohio  –  just a bit above it.  Meaning, we are right on schedule.  The adventure we are on is starting to sink in and I have been feeling sentimental/excited/sentimental all day.  Paul and I are both very eager to meet the two greyhounds we will be sharing our lives with…I hope they like us!

Iowa was beautiful; sunshine and morning dew made for glistening cornfields.  Then, the occasional old barn and/or Victorian.  And the pretty cows.  Seeing them spread out across the rolling hills gave me a good feeling.   Perhaps I am being unfair to the other states (it rained the entire time we drove through Nebraska, Illinois, and Indiana) but we both really enjoyed Iowa.   We are also enjoying our travelling CD gifts immensely – thank you, friends.

Paul is trying to sleep, and I know he is going to wake me up at the crack of dawn so I’m going to call it a day.  Goodnight  : )

Greetings from Omaha!

More goodbye parties yesterday and one little  hour of sleep last night (thanks, Sadie for keeping me company while I packed!).  Fortunately Paul enjoys driving, and he did get a good night’s sleep as he does not “fret” the way I tend to.  What a week!  We got rid of lots of household stuff…if you have questions on what is still left, I have updated the blog below.  The buyers came to visit and I am so thrilled they have children to fill that big house with fun and memories.  I always felt that house needed children!

Of course, we did not get a chance to say goodbye to everyone, but Paul will be back for the closing in a few weeks, and I may be back sooner rather than later, depending on the status of Mountain Girl Organics (I promise to let you know the latest when I have more info).  This is short and sweet as we are back on the road first thing in the morning…I hear from my East Coast friends that we are just in time for the changing of the leaves; can’t wait for Paul to experience New England this time of year…
